Cheo Rose-Washington Launches new Healthcare Handoff Consulting Brand

Congratulations to Cheo Rose-Washington on the launch of a new consulting brand and website! As the founder and CEO of Hand-Off, Cheo is seeking to improve healthcare communication during patient handoffs and transitions of care, helping organizations reduce preventable harm and improve patient safety.

In 2022, a failed handoff between hospitals caused two re-ruptured patellar tendons for Cheo. Up to 80% of medical errors are caused by failed communication, especially during handoffs between providers, and as a strategist and researcher, Cheo got to work studying the process to develop a better way forward. Cheo developed a Relay Race Methodology™ that helps healthcare providers and patient safety officers reimagine handoffs not as a checklist, but as a relay race where everyone is a teammate committed to each other’s success.
