SEAAHEAD

Pushing the boundaries of Bluetech to inspire change.

Founded in 2018, SeaAhead has been at the forefront of the emerging Bluetech industry. As the momentum continues to grow, SeaAhead needed a new brand that reflects its leadership role.

challenge

With the Bluetech industry gaining momentum, SeaAhead’s role has evolved from promoting this little-known sector to pushing its innovative boundaries. Their brand needed to change as well to reflect this deepened purpose.

INSIGHTS

Time is a brand’s best friend. It takes time to accumulate a brand’s credibility until it becomes synonymous with its industry. SeaAhead’s rebrand helped them clarify their position in Bluetech and consolidate their influence.

OUTCOME

SeaAhead is part of a complex ecosystem of investors, innovators, mentors, and collaborators. We built a brand system that’s flexible enough for their many endeavors yet unified by their central focus on innovation for healthier oceans.

Owning their new leadership role in Bluetech

As climate change and rising sea levels force global communities to confront a changing reality, entrepreneurs are turning to the ocean for solutions. Their big question: how do we move ocean innovation forward for greater impact to people, planet, and profits?

Founded in 2018, SeaAhead was built to connect Bluetech startups with funding and support infrastructure.  To accelerate the sector’s growth, SeaAhead has built the Northeast’s first Bluetech startup incubator, catalyzed an active network of industry leaders, gathered a community of angel investors, and invested in scalable ocean solutions.

As the Bluetech industry gains momentum, SeaAhead is readying for the next phase. We worked with SeaAhead to refine its leadership position – pushing the boundaries of Bluetech innovation and advancing new narratives around ocean health.

02 / BRAND IDENTITY DESIGN

Enhancing credibility with a strong, unified brand

SeaAhead’s work is as multifaceted as the Bluetech industry itself, with multiple programs and many collaborative relationships. As they have built the foundational pieces of this new industry, they needed a brand that could adapt to their many endeavors and connect with multiple audiences.

We built a strong brand system for this new phase of influence, one that enhances their leadership and credibility. It is nimble enough to grow with them, it consolidates what they do, and it is unified by their central focus on innovation for healthier oceans.

03 / Relationship Building

Leading with long-term relationships

Creating a better future for the ocean takes a community. Over the years, SeaAhead has collaborated with organizations like the New England Aquarium and brought traditional investment partners into the nontraditional Bluetech space. They know it is work they can’t do alone, and we have been on the journey with them from the beginning.

The goal of a good brand is to share a compelling vision and then build lasting relationships that make that vision a reality. It takes time to accumulate a brand’s credibility. Since their founding, we’ve worked closely with SeaAhead in the many facets of their work, from their first Bluetech conference to developing all of their program brandings. Now we’ve helped them craft a new brand that tells their story and supports the relationships they’re building as they advance their Bluetech endeavors.

“We love working with Giant Shoulders, they just get what we need – seeming to know what we need before we know it is. They are a key part of our implementation team, thoughtful, detail-oriented, and always on time.”
